SERVING THE LORD

A NEW PERSPECTIVE was created out of a desire to serve the Lord and to help others do the same. Sixteen and half years ago I began working with youth and children. From these environments, I found myself engaging with not only the youth, but their families. After seminary, I started working for various churches doing evangelism and counseling. I soon realized that there was a need. A lot of smaller churches who needed a counselor to help tend to their sheep. or members, could not afford it. Out of that revelation was birthed our ministry. A New Perspective was formed In June of 1995. We are so thankful to get to walk out our passion. After years of serving the Lord we now daily get to help others find freedom and passion to do the same.

OUR DESIRE is to help individuals, couples, and families apply God’s word to their lives as they draw closer to Christ and to one another. We achieve this through partnering with churches as they help their members walk closer to Christ and apply His word to their situations. The Local Church is the hope of the world and we want to be the hands and feet. Our approach to counseling is similar to that of Christ and the Samaritan woman at the well. He met her where she was, lovingly confronted her with her sin and offered her eternal living water.

Johnny Puryear

JOHNNY PURYEAR has addressed the needs of couples and families in churches, businesses, and other civic and Christian organizations. He has a dual Master's Degrees in Biblical Studies and Marriage & Family Therapy from Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, Mississippi. He was married for nearly 30 years before his wife passed away.

His servant's heart drives him towards loving and helping others draw closer to the Lord and each other. He is the Founder and President of A New Perspective Christian Counseling and Mediation Services. This organization empowers couples and equips churches for ministry. Johnny has been a marriage and family counselor for 30 years. He is also an ordained minister, and a certified general and family mediator. He is the creator and presenter of the Building Radical Relationships Seminar, and has put together numerous other seminars concerning marriage and family.  Johnny also is avaliable to perform weddings/pre-marital counseling if needed.

Johnny has served as a director for youth and children’s ministries. He has also been in roles such as, associate pastor, and an interim pastor at various churches. He is now married to the lovely Suzanne Puryear, and they live in Longview, Texas.   They have 4 children and 7grandchildrem.  One of his favorite things to do is hang out with his wife, his four grown children, and his seven grandchildren. He also enjoys camping, boating, and exercising.

 

BETH LEININGER - Beth moved to East Texas in 2021 with her husband, children and grandchildren.  Beth has a Master's of Science in counseling from Wedstern Illinois University with a Biblical Counseling certification from Deeper Walk International.  Beth has been counseling since 1996 in public schools as well as several churches.  Beth does individual, pre-marital, couple, family and blended family counseling.  Beth also works with clients who suffer from physical, emotional, religious, and sexual abuse.  Beth's emphasisi is four-fold:  building an identity in Christ, understanding and dealing with spiritual warfare, dealing with past traumas, and understanding the brain science behind emotional healing.  Beth's passion is to help people be transformed by the renewing of their minds biblically and to see the Lord bind up the broken in heart and set the captive free.
